I have been working with Frank Matusek for approximately 10 years and during that time we have completed over 10 projects together, from the new construction of large homes to small remodels and additions. As an architect I work with many builders but Frank Matusek is the one I prefer to work with. Mr. Matusek works with the highest integrity, he will insist on thoroughly understanding the construction drawings prior to construction and he expects the same understanding from his sub-contractors. Once Frank gives you a price he sticks with it, avoiding the costly change orders that other builders will impose.

Price of course isn't everything and you certainly get what you pay for. Frank employs quality craftspeople and if something isn't right or to his satisfaction he will have it redone without waiting for the owner to notice. I will only trust a handful of builders with the level of detail our plans contain and Frank is certainly one of them.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Frank Matusek and Matusek Contracting. His company did a large kitchen/pantry/living room/dining room/bedroom-to-office remodel for us, and it was a fantastic experience! After we spoke with Frank the first time, we felt no need to speak with any additional contractors. We knew he was the one. He works closely with our kitchen designer, Jill Gruner, and the two of them are dynamite!

Our remodel came in on budget, on time, and at a fair and competitive price. We only paid extra for the items we decided to add along the way that were not included in the original bid. His bid was very detailed and easy to understand.

Not only is Frank Matusek a true professional in every sense of the word, but he listens intently. During every conversation we had, he always answered each question thoroughly, explained what was going on during each phase of the project, and worked very hard to ensure that the vision we had of what we wanted our home to look like after the remodel came to fruition. Frank has a very can-do attitude. Things we thought couldn't be done, like removing major supporting walls, he and his subs were able to accomplish.

As busy as he is, he was always at our house checking on the progress of the remodel and making sure everything was done correctly. Equally as important to us was the fact that he was always very prompt in returning phone calls, texts, and emails.

All ofMatusek Contracting's subcontractors are professional, prompt, and easy to work with, and we had 14 different subcontractors on this project. Frank says he has the best subs in Austin, and we believe it. In addition to our own home (which Frank remodeled), we have four rental properties and have worked with many different contractors over the years. Frank and his subs are definitely the best! Their craftsmanship and quality of work are of the utmost caliber.

When our remodel was finished, it was sad to say goodbye to everyone who worked on our remodel because they seemed like family by the time project was completed!

We would not hesitate to hire Matusek Contracting again for any building project, no matter the size or scope.

Frank Matusek and his team were on time AND on budget for the total remodel of our home. We added almost 700 sq ft, moved the stairs inside our home, added a bathroom and laundry room, and then updated every room in the house. This was a massive undertaking, and Frank approached this project with excitement and a can-do attitude. He was patient with me, explaining each element of the estimate, and he even had separate meetings with me and a subcontractor when I had additional questions regarding certain aspects of the build.

Once work began, Frank was open, consistent, and frequent with his communication regarding the progress of the work. His team was professional and it was obvious that they took pride in their work. They were not just concerned that they provided a high-quality product, but they were also concerned that I liked the finished product. For example, all of our lights are perfectly spaced and symmetrical, the large walk in shower drains perfectly, and our white custom cabinets continue to look as if they were installed yesterday. It has been three years since our remodel, and I still get compliments on the work that Frank and his team performed.

I strongly recommend Frank Matusek as a contractor. He is a professional, a great communicator, and a superb manager of his team.

We first used Matusek Contracting when we purchased our home in Barton Hills in 2003. Frank completely gutted our kitchen while we were still in the house and finished the job on time and on budget. Frank Matusek has always had time to talk us through a project and has a very friendly and straight forward manner. Since that first job, it’s like Frank became a member of our family. After the kitchen remodel, Matusek Contracting has added an office, bathroom and bedroom to our house, redone our attic to make it more energy efficient and useable, replaced siding, windows and our driveway. He’s basically rebuilt our house. Unlike a lot of contractors, Frank can do the work himself so he knows the difference between a good and bad subcontractor. We have always had confidence that he’s getting the best price for the job. We have a few more projects planned over the next few years and you can bet we will be hiring Matusek Contracting to do the work.

We learned about and hired Matusek Contracting Services through our designer and we are so happy we did. Upon first meeting Frank Matusek, we were immediately impressed by his knowledge, professionalism and friendliness. After our initial meetings with him and his sub contractors, we were swiftly provided the necessary information and estimates for our project, and with that information we worked with Frank to adjust the scope of our extensive remodel to fit our budget. Frank then provided us with an accurate timeline which he stuck to, and we couldn't be happier with the results! We are writing this letter to thank Matusek Contracting Services for a job well done in constructing the addition to our home from May 2016 to November 2016. During the 6 months of the project, your attention to the specifics of the construction as well as the proper scheduling of the subcontractors resulted in a lovely addition of which we are very proud. The subcontractors that were here during this project were very competent, respectful, and pleasant.

Your company was suggested by the architect and at first the project seemed to us overwhelming, but your expert guidance to vendors for doors, windows, fixtures, etc. made it seem manageable. The project was completed under budget.

Suggestions to others when taking on a project such as this are to have patience (weather affects the progress) and to be available for various reasons such as questions/answers and unexpected decisions to be made.
